Our resident cat, Hemi, was found as a stray kitten and now he’s a grown up little cat man.

​He’s always ready to assist when help is needed! His favorite spots include resting in the cupboards with the microchips and supplies, or perched in a sink to drink from a dripping water faucet.

Celene Oglesbee, DVM

Dr. Celene Oglesbee joined our clinic in 2018, and is from Des Moines, IA.  She received both her undergraduate degree and veterinary doctorate from Iowa State University. Her interests inside the clinic include feline medicine and cardiology. Her interests outside the clinic include photography, swing dancing, martial arts, and her cats. 

Steve White, DVM
Veterinarian

Dr. Steve White has been with us since 2015, after previously working with the Nebraska Humane Society. He is a graduate of THE University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, and is interested in cardiology and orthopedics. He also sees “pocket pets” at the clinic. His menagerie of pets includes: horses, dogs, cats, a guinea pig, a rabbit, and turtles. When not at work, he enjoys canoeing, camping, fishing, and music.

Brandy Witte, DVM
Veterinarian

Originally from Lincoln, Dr. Witte earned a bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University and her DVM degree from Western University of Health Sciences. She then continued her “California adventure” with an internship in internal and emergency medicine at East Bay Veterinary Specialists before returning to the Midwest. She comes to us seeking daylight after years of emergency overnight experience in Iowa City. With an interest in feline medicine, Dr. Witte shares her home with her husband and two cats.

Peggy
Receptionist

Peggy is our newest receptionist, joining us in November 2015. She loves meeting new people and their pets. After completing high school, she obtained a CNA degree. She and her husband, Marty, have been married since 1980 have 4 children and 2 cats. When not at the clinic, Peggy enjoys traveling, wine tasting, and spending time with her family and friends.

Sandy
Receptionist

Sandy has enjoyed greeting clients and helping their pets here since 1998. Hooray for Sandy for sticking with us! Her experience is invaluable!  Sandy and her husband have 1 of their 9 children at home, and multiple pets, but her “hobby” outside of work is her grandbaby.

Deja’nae
Veterinary Assistant

​Deja’nae started with us in July 2019 as a receptionist. She is now working as a veterinary assistant. She is currently in her second year of vet tech school at Iowa Western. She enjoys being hands on and learning new things from the veterinarians and technicians. On her free time she likes to do makeup, model, and spend time hanging out with her family members & maltese/chihuahua (Milo).

Amy
Veterinary Assistant

We’ve been counting on Amy here at 24th Street Animal Clinic since April of 2005. She shows how much she likes working with the animals through her patience and quality of work. She and her husband have a son named Lucas, and her home is filled out by her Doberman (Hazel), Rat Terrier (Lad), ferret (Cici), and two Siamese mixes (Frannie and Saphire). We’ve enjoyed watching Hazel grow from a little floppy puppy to a big girl (next to Amy in the picture)! Amy likes to relieve stress by playing basketball when she can.

Hannah
Veterinary Assistant

Hannah’s favorite thing to do outside of work is traveling, hiking, camping and spending time with her animals. She has an Aussie named Aspen, one bearded dragon named Minnie and one blue tongue skink named Mac. She is very much a reptile person and always has been, even as a child! She is starting Iowa Western as a Veterinary Tech in August of ’21. She loves being a part of a great family that loves animals as much as she does!

Candice
Veterinary Assistant

Candice White is one of our 24th street’s fantastic Veterinary Assistants. She loves and enjoys animals so much that it has led her to a passionate career in helping to provide ongoing care of your pet. She has a degree in Agricultural Science with a Concentration in Animal Science and has a keen interest for continuing her education/knowledge of all thing’s pets! Her goal is to be well versed and able to give the very best of care for all your animal’s needs!

Justice 
Veterinary Assistant

Justice is one of the amazing technician assistants here at 24th st. Animal Clinic. Animals have always been her passion since she was a little girl. She studied animal/human psychology and sociology in school and has worked in the veterinary field for over four years. She currently has three dogs, one cat and a few chickens! She also does animal training on the side so basically animals are her life! She worked in specialty orthopedics for almost 2 years, so she has seen a lot of cool and interesting new ways to help our pets enjoy their life to the fullest!

Veterinary Technician

Andi graduated from the Omaha College of Health Careers Veterinary Technician Program. She has been working with us since 1994 when we opened. Her special interest is with animal behavior. Andi’s animal family consists of 1 cat named Dexter and 1 dog named Cody.

Angela
Veterinary Technician

​Angela joined us in October of 2012 after graduating from the veterinary technician program at Vatterott College.  Her special interest areas are in animal behavior, and in diagnostic & microscopic lab work.   Away from work, she enjoys hiking and spending time outdoors with her family and her German Shepherd (Sammie) and Yorkie (Tink), or hanging out at home with her  son and her cat (Be Bop).

Marisue
Veterinary Technician

Marisue graduated from the Veterinary Technician Program in Curtis, Nebraska. She has been working at 24th Street Animal Clinic since 1995. Marisue loves to share the outdoors with her husband, 3 boys, dog and horse. Three cats round out her happy family. She has a special interest in client education.

Chris
Pet Care & Housekeeping

Chris joined the clinic in December of 2013. She enjoys working with the animals here at the clinic, and appreciates the mental aspects of continuing her education and knowledge of animals. Chris has “always worked with animals,” and has over 40 years of experience working with horses. When not working, she still spends time showing Morgan horses. She also likes to make and show model horses in her spare time.
